A different kind of Antropology
I am going to choose the post 2, "Who is a person/expert on your field that you admire?" and the person who i admire maybe is not an expert, maybe he is not a famous anthropologist, but he sees the anthropology in a different way than the most of people i have heared. He is Daniel Quiroz, my university teacher of anthropology.
I really could not give you more information about him, like a biography or something like that, because like i said, he is not a really famous guy, but i can tell you why i like him. He speaks about anthropology with love, he says "anthropology is an art" and makes poems about the ethnography. On the contrary, the most of my teachers has tried to say that the anthropology is a science. I do not know if the anthropology is a science or not. I really do not care about that. I think the anthropology could be beatiful, like Daniel Quiroz says " An art", i think there are many different ways to say something or to see something. Maybe, if the anthropologists were not thinking about " is the anthropology a sciencie?" they could do a lot of differents thing. But unfortunately in our world the science is the voice. The "only one truth". If the anthropology was not a science, nobody would put attention about it. i know that. But anyway, i think personally, the "Daniel Quiroz anthropology" is more beautiful and makes me feel better. I think, with all respect, that is more anthropology. I think the anthropologist should not be worried about the science. We should enjoy our job doing it of our own way. If i want to make a song about a social group, i should can do it, and nobody should tell me "That is less anthropology". I really admire the point of view from Daniel Quiroz. He gives me back the wish to study anthropology.

ReplyDeleteHe never says new things... he just turns around about the same concept... he is too hippie.
ReplyDeletesee you
Quiroz is adorable ... well as an anthropologist has gone through two stages: a materialist and a postmodern, following the footsteps of his favorite anthropologist Marshall Sahlins.
ReplyDeletegreetings

Good, Gabriel.
ReplyDeleteHave a look at the following sentence: "If i want to make a song about a social group, i should can do it, and nobody should tell me "That is less anthropology". " What´s wrong?
2 points.
